Frequently Asked Questions

I know planning a wedding can be very overwhelming! I’d love to hear from you with any questions, thoughts, or ideas.  I thought it may be helpful to have some general photography related information all in one place.

DO I INCLUDE ‘DIGITAL NEGATIVES’ (I.E. IMAGES ON A DISC)?

Yes! I have really strong feelings on this topic, but basically it is your wedding so I believe you should receive your images. I include a DVD of finished color-corrected/enhanced images with every wedding I photograph. This DVD is shipped directly to your home and includes a print release. The amount of images does depend on the amount of wedding day coverage you’ve selected but is generally between 700-900 images.

DO I HAVE BUSINESS LIABILITY INSURANCE?

Great question that you should ask all of your wedding vendors! Yes, I am fully covered.

WHY IS AN ENGAGEMENT SESSION ALWAYS INCLUDED WITH WEDDING COLLECTIONS?

I personally really value the time spent at your engagement session. It helps us get to know each other better. And it helps you both get a little more comfortable in front of my camera while seeing how I work. Engagement sessions normally last around an hour and include two outfits. I love when couples come up with creative ideas and props for their session. I’ve written a ‘Tips for Tuesdays’ post on engagement session outfits and props from ideas clients have used in the past.

WILL I BE THE ONLY PHOTOGRAPHER AT YOUR WEDDING?

This is something that we will discuss at your client meeting. I do try to work with either a second photographer or an assistant at each wedding I photograph.

WHAT ARE MY THOUGHTS ON HAVING A FIRST LOOK?

A first look is when the bride and groom see each other before the ceremony! I strongly encourage all of my wedding clients to consider a ‘first look.’ Every couple that has chosen to do so has said it’s one of the best decisions they have made. This provides a few emotional moments for the couple while I’m photographing from a short distance. These are always the most romantic unforgettable images from the wedding day. The day passes by so quickly for the bride and groom – this helps provide an extra special memory. Trust me, all the emotions are still present when the bride walks down the aisle. This also provides time to capture all of the family and wedding party portraits before the ceremony. The bride and groom normally arrive to their reception within 20 minutes (or less) opposed to an hour plus with all the portraits taken after the ceremony. Ultimately, the decision is yours.

WHAT ABOUT  WEDDING DAY TIMELINES AND PORTRAIT LISTS?

I help each couple I work with create a custom wedding day timeline and portrait list. We will literally schedule the entire wedding day start to finish and work directly off of the timeline.  Family portraits and group portraits can become overwhelming for everyone very quickly. In my experience, I’ve found it is best to create a portrait list prior to your wedding that we can review. It includes a detailed list of every grouping, and helps you let your family and friends know where to be when. Again, we’ll literally work off of this during the posed portrait time of your wedding day. These both are a huge help ensuring your wedding day runs as smoothly as possible. (And I always bring extra copies of the timeline for other vendors!!)

IS PRICING INFORMATION AVAILABLE ONLINE?

Password protected general pricing information is now available here. Please send me an email for the password.

HOW CAN YOU RESERVE YOUR WEDDING DATE?

I require a complete and signed contract along with a deposit to reserve all wedding dates.

WHERE AM I LOCATED AND AM I WILLING TO TRAVEL?

I am located in Carrollton, Georgia just outside of Atlanta. While most weddings I photograph are in the West Georgia area, I am always willing to travel.

DO I HAVE ANY FORMAL TRAINING?

Yes! I graduated from the University of West Georgia with my BFA in photography. In addition to starting my own business, I also have three and a half years of studio experience.
